Your vision

The project can start with a fixed set optical requirements or we can start with conversation about your idea, goals, and vision.

In this phase we determine the requirements that will achieve your vision. Requirements engineering can span many optics related disciplines including mechanical, electrical, photonics. The the vision and requirements understood, a set of optical requirements is determined.

Design

This is the stage where the optical requirements are used to determine the best optical design for the optical system. In the design phase, the entire optical system constraints are considered and analysed including mechanical, environmental, and thermal constraints.

Prototyping

Before product lines are launched, optical systems are tested on an optical breadboard. This is an important stage to take an idealised design to a real life functioning optical system. In this phase the real life performance can be analysed and the inputs used for the final production version.

Many 'one off' optical systems may finish at this stage if they are meant for metrology systems or for 'in-house' processes.

Production

With the initial requirements satisfied by design and via optical breadboard prototyping, the optical system is ready for manufacture and production.

Optical Design

Leviathan optical engineering can deliver custom optical systems such as imaging cameras, positioning sensors, communication systems for a range of applications including space, production lines, and consumer products. Stray light analysis is critical in most optical systems and leviathan optical engineering can ensure any optical system achieves peak optical and mechanical performance using advanced stray light analysis techniques.

Opto-mechanical design

Leviathan Optical Engineering is fully licensed for Solidworks entire range of CAD design and simulation software. This means we can deliver far more than optical designs. We can design opto-mechanical test benches and custom opto-mechanical units.

STOP -Structural Thermal Optical Performance

Leviathan Optical Engineering can utilize Optic Studio's STAR module to analyse structural and thermal optical losses with data imported for CAD design and simulation software such as Solid works.
